Broadex Recoveries

Broadex Recoveries focuses exclusively on cargo claims recovery for international shipping and trade. We manage the full recovery cycle — from notice of claim through negotiation, arbitration, or litigation under the Indian Carriage of Goods by Sea Act — so that marine insurers, underwriters, freight forwarders, P&I clubs, and trading companies can protect their positions with confidence.

Short-Landed / Shortage Claims

We pursue recovery where cargo is delivered short of the manifested quantity, across both containerized and bulk shipments. Our work includes survey coordination, reconciliation of manifests and delivery records, and targeted recovery against carriers, terminals, and other liable parties.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

Delay & Consequential Loss Claims

We act on claims arising from unreasonable delay in delivery, including missed market windows and contractual deadlines. Our team quantifies consequential loss, tests carrier defenses under applicable carriage regimes, and pursues recovery where delay has caused measurable financial harm.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

Reefer & Temperature-Controlled Cargo Spoilage

We focus on claims involving reefer container failure, temperature excursions, and spoilage of perishable cargo. By reviewing temperature logs, monitoring data, and handling records, we identify breakdowns in carriage and pursue recovery from carriers, terminals, or service providers responsible for the loss.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

Subrogation Recovery for Insurers & Underwriters

We represent marine cargo insurers and underwriters in recovering paid claims from liable carriers, terminals, and third parties. Our work includes reviewing policy and claim files, preserving time bars, issuing recovery demands, and pursuing subrogated actions to maximize net recovery.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

Cargo Damage Claims

We handle wet damage, contamination, mishandling, and stowage-related cargo damage claims from first notice through settlement. We analyze bills of lading, stowage plans, survey reports, and terminal records to build a precise liability case against carriers and terminal operators.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

Total Loss / Non-Delivery Claims

We manage full recovery where cargo is lost, misdirected, or never delivered to the consignee. This includes tracing cargo movements, securing documentation from carriers and intermediaries, and prosecuting claims to recover the full insured or contractual value where liability is established.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

Charterparty & Bill of Lading Disputes (Cargo-Related)

We assist with cargo-related disputes under charterparties and bills of lading, including demurrage, detention, and cargo damage arising from breach of the contract of carriage. We interpret charter and bill terms, allocate risk between parties, and drive resolution through negotiation, arbitration, or court proceedings where required.

Experience: Handled at CMA CGM

For Admiralty & Vessel-Side Matters

While our focus is cargo claims recovery, we work with trusted correspondent counsel for ship arrest, vessel casualties, and crew claims — inquire directly if you need a referral.
